Electronics/Software Test Engineer

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship Required (ITAR/DoW Programs)

About the Role

Astra CoreX, Inc. (ACX) is seeking an Electronics/Software Test Engineer to own the assembly, instrumentation, and testing of propulsion hardware for our launch vehicles. You’ll be responsible for assembling, instrumenting, and testing components, subsystems, and complete vehicles using your technical background and available references, under the guidance of subject matter experts in several key areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate instrumentation including pressure, temperature, and strain.
  • Perform DAQ setup, calibration, and test execution.
  • Write test plans, safety reviews, and reports.
  • Support build of propulsion hardware and test articles.
  • Support design of fixtures, mounts, stands, and launchers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or another relevant field.
  • 3–10 years of experience testing rocket-powered launch vehicles.
  • Strong proficiency with Python and LabView.
  • Experience developing test software and conducting test data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizen with eligibility for government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hardware/software integration for embedded avionics or propulsion test stands.
  • Background in automated test engineering, instrumentation calibration, and DAQ validation workflows.
  • Familiarity with thermal and pressure data reduction and validation for flight or ground test campaigns.
  • Strong mathematical and troubleshooting skills for complex test operations and anomaly isolation.
